The beginning of on-body sensing
Anyone who has spent time wearing the reflective dots of a motion tracking imaging system or a bodysuit with a network of Inertia Measuring Units (IMUs) will understand in an instant the thought that goes into our design philosophy. It takes its cue from kinesiology tape (examples can be seen KT Tape): flexible, versatile and, most importantly, wearable. By reducing the number of objects needed on the body to capture motion, we also reduce the noise from movement between the bodysuit, gaining true accuracy. This elegant mechanical integration between digital and analog, the hardware and the body, truly sets us apart from other sensing platforms.
The video below shows the first step of setting up a figur8 sensor for capturing the movement of one arm. More examples are coming soon.
